Another great party

I'm always happy when my good friend Alla invite me to shoot one of her parties, it's always well planned and always lots of fun for me and for the guests.
no one is going to complain when you have lots of food alcohol and good music

i especially like to see how much fun they are having, just simple party between friends

its funny, i have been doing so many of these events i already know most of the people there by first name, i actually run into them all the time since we all live in the south bay area

David Neys Bar Mitzva

David is a really sweet boy, i work with his mother Alla and i got to know this wonderful family and become a friend. David had his Bar Mitzva in Palo Alto, it was a little challenging for me since i couldn't use my camera inside the synagogue so i had to stand outside with a really long lens, they didn't allow flash either .

the big guy in the picture is Jason, he is another good friend that work with us, here he is explaining something. the guy is a walking encyclopedia so he usually explain something to someone.
Once the ceramony started David did his part and became a man, that is the whole point in a Bar Mitzva, you move from being a kid to becoming a man, hey David - you da man.

here is another one with David's beautiful sister.

Holly c**p.....

Dan was referred to me via another photographer who doesn't do product photography and he had an unusual task for me, he had antique religious icons, a lot of them and he needed pictures but he wanted the pictures to look amature. it had to look like its a "treasure" someone has found in his basement

Dan is collecting antique items, this lot had 500 items ranging from small painting to huge and heavy paintings. all of them painted on wood (very heavy) and most of them are 150-300 years old.

i like this kind of assignments since it gives me a chance to do something different, its a challenge especially when you have to shoot outside of the studio with less control over lighting and equipment. luckily i have a "mobile studio" so i can drop a quick background arrange some lights and im good to go.
